Leo Quintero
Leonardo Quintero accomplished guitarist, composer and producer, originally from Caracas, Venezuela, started to play when he was a child and his passion for music led him to a faculty position at the Berklee College of Music in Boston from 1991 to 1995.
Currently residing in the multicultural city of Miami, Florida, he is considered one of the top studio guitarists in Miami. For over 30 years he has been known for his work as a studio musician, but he is also highly acclaimed as a jazz performer and lead guitarist. Leo is a consumate professional, always striving for the highest quality and new ways to challenge his boundless creativity.
As a side man has been involved in projects and recordings such as the Jam Miami concert with Arturo Sandoval in which featured Chick Corea and many more jazz and Latin jazz musicians.
Also as a side man, studio guitarist and producer has worked for Lauryn Hill, Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira, Gilberto Santa Rosa, Engelbert Humperdinck, and many more.Leo Quintero is also an Exclusive artist from the world famous guitar brand, Gibson.
His songs have been performed by various artist. The song Nothing serious written by Leo was recorded by trumpeter Roy Hargrove in his 2006 CD. Roy's CD is also called Nothing serious.
His most recent Cd Ofrendas is a collection of classical guitar pieces, and some originals, arranged for a jazz group with an ethnic south American flavor . It's released on Fono jazz Universal since 2005. It includes Antonio Lauro Waltz #3 (Natalia), Waltz #2 (Andreina), Francisco Tarrega's Lagrima, Capricho Arabe, Adelita, A Catalanian song, plus a Tango and the song Ofrendas by Leo Quintero.
The Leo Quintero group features some of the finest musicians in Miami including Silvano Monasterios and Nomar Negroni.
