The company repertoire includes works by such Classical Ballet Masters as Petipa, Bournonville and Fokine. The Company’s performance repertoire also includes original choreographic works by its director, Vladimir Issaev.
Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida is a young, vibrant dance company focusing on becoming a force in the ballet community of South Florida. The Company performs at important venues such as the Julius Littman North Miami Beach Performing Arts Theatre, The Parker Playhouse and the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.
Our 2008-2009 season opens with a return engagement of Firebird, which has been a perennial favorite among our established patron base and continues to attract new audiences followed by the beloved Nutcracker, a seasonal favorite and perhaps the best-known Russian ballet. During our upcoming season, we will introduce one new major performance into our repertoire: Fairy Doll. This “lost ballet†will be performed for the first time in Florida. In April, we conclude our regular season with the Spring Gala, during which our professional dancers receive an opportunity to perform excerpts from some of the most loved ballets as well as original compositions. To top of it all, the company will be traveling in June to the annual International Ballet Concert with three other international professional ballet companies in Odense, Denmark.
The company has also performed in Poznan, Poland in 2006 and 2008. In 2007 the company hosted the Third International Ballet Concert with groups from Denmark, Poland, Germany, Austria and Canada. In 2008 the company performed in Germany.
The Company also believes in community outreach and performs at various community venues and presentations.
Our Arts Ballet Goes to School program that reaches out to Miami-Dade and Broward public schools; Dancing with Disabilities that provides opportunities for disabled members of the community who wish to learn dance. Each summer and for the past ten seasons, Arts Ballet Theatre has hosted the internationally acclaimed Classical Ballet Seminar of Russian Technique, attracting more local, national and international students to our facility.
As our company also continues to grow, we invite you to be part of the upcoming exciting and breathtaking season.
“Issaev's genius and teaching/directing shows through in his dancers,…The entire dance team is a reflection of the notable precision and classical dance beauty for which Issaev has few equivalents." Ron Levitt, Contributing writer for Entertainment News and Views
“Indeed Issaev’s sweeping choreography for this episode recalled the work of the great Russian choreographer Leonid Lavrovsky. Memorable moments like this are what ballet is all about. Issaev’s family spectacle proved a real winner.†Lawrence Budmen, Contributing writer for Entertainment News and Views.
